Do you want more in-depth information about how to apply the permaculture principles? Do you want to learn more about permaculture design processes? Do you want a deeper understanding of how to use design tools? Then this is the course for you. Maybe you attended your full PDC a few years ago. Maybe you don't feel confident with pattern application, presenting designs, using design tools or designing in groups. Maybe you want to refresh your skills after a break. Whatever the reason, Joe and Hannah have designed a course which will bridge any gap you feel there might be that could be stopping you from using your permaculture design skills.

Course Description
This 2 week residential course will enable you to:
- learn permaculture ethics, principles & design techniques
- gain knowledge & skills for sustainable living
- gain a solutions-focused approach to 21st century challenges
- meet like-minded people and make new friends
- draw inspiration from examples of permaculture in action
- cultivate optimism and hope in challenging times
Visits
You will visit several projects including:
- the gardens at Stanford Hall
- a working permaculture farm
- a sustainably managed woodland
- two urban community gardens
- an aquaponics project
- the world's oldest & largest Victorian allotments
- a rammed-earth building with reciprocal roof
- a straw bale building
Teaching methods
You'll learn through a wide range of activities:
- dicussion
- talks
- slideshows
- practical activities
- group design exercises
- chatting around camp fires
- cooking, eating & socialising together
- watching films
- singing songs & playing games (if you want to!)
Dyslexia & accessibility
The course is open to everyone, but designed to be particularly accessible to people with dyslexia.
No compulsory reading or writing assignments. You will not be asked to read long sections of text aloud. Supporting resources are designed to be as dyslexia-friendly as possible. Where possible, text is supported with images.
Due to the graphical nature of learning the materials, this course may be less accessible for people with profound visual impairments, particularly those who rely on assistive technologies that read text.
